Roblox Community Protests ‘Communism’ Update

Welcome to Bloxburg players are holding “Anti Communism” signs and throwing boxes of pizza into the ocean to protest an attempt to create income equality.
Roblox Community Protests ‘Communism’ Update

Players in Welcome to Bloxburg, one of the most popular Roblox games, are holding “anti-communist” protests against the game’s developer after a recent update that decreased in-game pay for some players and increased it for others.

Welcome to Bloxburg is a massively popular life-simulation and roleplay game developed on the Roblox platform that’s been visited billions of times and has tens of thousands of active players at any given moment. The game was first created in 2014, but was acquired by Embracer Group in 2023 and is now developed in partnership with Coffee Stain Studios.

The protests and fighting about communism began after the game introduced an update that changed how players were paid in-game currency for performing different tasks, like delivering pizza for Pizza Planet, an in-game restaurant. As one popular Bloxburg YouTube creator shows, the update made it seem like all jobs pay equally now, no matter how much a player has leveled up a certain job. Previously, Bloxburg players got paid more for doing a job once they leveled up in that job. Now, a maxed out pizza delivery job pays a maximum of $2,625 per minute, while a low level fisherman job also pays a maximum of $2,625 per minute.
