Garth Brooks’ New, Bass Pro Shops-Exclusive CD: The 404 Media Review

With 'Time Traveler,' Garth Brooks created the most memorable album in recent memory by making me go to a Bass Pro Shop.

On a recent trip to Joshua Tree, I took my family on an unannounced, hour-long detour to procure something very important for our journey: the new Garth Brooks album Time Traveler.

Fans of Garth Brooks, 404 Media, and/or Bass Pro Shops may already know that Time Traveler is available ONLY as part of a seven CD box set called “The Limited Series,” and that this seven CD box set is available ONLY at Bass Pro Shops stores. It is not available to download, and it is not streaming on any service. A week after it was released, it was not readily available on public torrent sites to pirate, though, after I wrote about how odd this state of affairs was back in December, many readers were able to find pirated copies of the album on private torrent trackers, and many of them offered to send it to me.

As a fan of Garth, traveling long distances for experimental blogs, and inconveniencing my family, however, I decided to drag my loved ones to the nearest Bass Pro Shop, which is anywhere between an hour and a half and three hours from my house, depending on traffic.
