Neo-Nazis + 'Uncensored' AI

A large language model by the same company previously produced instructions on how to kill someone or carry out ethnic cleansing.

Rinaldo Nazzaro, the founder of the Neo-Nazi group The Base, instructed his followers to use an “uncensored” large language model in case they “need info from totally uncensored AI,” according to social media posts 404 Media has seen. The posts were first spotted by the threat intelligence group Memetica.

Nazzaro’s post doesn’t specify what kind of information his followers should try to get from the AI, and 404 Media has not seen evidence for the type of responses Neo-Nazis are generating with this specific AI model, if at all. But we’ve previously reported that uncensored large language models will readily instruct users on how to kill someone, commit suicide, carry out ethnic cleansing, or make crack. The news shows how AI models and AI internet platforms with less restrictions compared to market leaders like OpenAI are making it increasingly easier for anyone to generate any kind of content, and that leaders of extremist movements have considered how it might be useful for them.

“This is not a chatbot so you can't have a conversation with it. Nevertheless, it can provide detailed uncensored responses to specific questions even if potentially criminal in nature...but don't use it for that of course!” Nazzaro said in posts on Gab and Telegram, where he has small followings, and where his posts, including these, get little engagement. The Base is designated as a terrorist organization in Canada, and several of its members have been arrested by the FBI.
