Internal Emails Show Cops Thought ‘Call of Duty’ Recruitment Ad Could Piss Off Activision

Internal emails obtained by 404 Media show that police who made a 'Call of Duty' themed recruitment poster were more worried about legal issues from Activision than the obviously problematic framing of policing as a video game.

Police officers who designed a recruitment poster portraying law enforcement work as similar to playing Call of Duty were more concerned with avoiding legal ramifications from the game’s publisher Activision, rather than the obviously problematic framing of law enforcement as a violent video game, according to internal police department emails obtained by 404 Media.
