The dental hygienist had just finished 10 minutes of aggressively scraping my teeth with a water pick when she asked if I was taking any new medications lately. An image came to mind of the online pharmacy app I'd been using to order vials of gonadotropins, follicle stimulating hormones, patches infused with estrogen, and tiny pre-filled syringes of ovulation trigger injections.
