New York Governor Kathy Hochul just announced she’s sending in the National Guard to the city’s transit system to help the NYPD rummage through people’s bags on the subway, and added that she plans to make it possible to ban people from accessing the MTA if they’ve been convicted of assaulting anyone within the system.
